CROSSFIT VS HYROX
What's the difference, and which is right for you?
CROSSFIT
General Fitness
Builds strength, power, and cardiovascular fitness through constantly varied workouts. It incorporates weightlifting, bodyweight exercises, and high-intensity conditioning to develop a well-rounded athlete.
As A Sport
Tests a mix of strength, endurance, and skill. Athletes must lift heavy, perform gymnastics, and complete high-intensity workouts. Events are unpredictable, requiring versatility across multiple domains.
HYROX
General Fitness
Endurance-focused, combining running with functional movements to improve stamina and muscular endurance. While strength is involved, the emphasis is on sustained effort rather than explosive power.
As A Sport
A standardized race where every event is the same. Athletes complete 8 rounds of a 1km run, followed by functional workout stations. It’s all about endurance, pacing, and strength under fatigue.
WHICH ONE SHOULD YOU DO?
Choose CrossFit if: You thrive on variety, enjoy lifting heavy weights, and want to build explosive strength, agility, and power.
Choose Hyrox if: You prefer endurance challenges, structured training, and the excitement of racing against the clock in a steady-paced format.
The best part? You don't have to pick just one!
At Garage, we offer both Hyrox and CrossFit classes so you can experience both and find what works best for you.
